Perfect Neighbours, Perfect Lies…
When Viola's new neighbours move into Number 33, everything seems picture-perfect.
But behindthe manicured lawn and polite smiles, dark secrets lurk in the shadows. As Viola, a quiet retiree, digs deeper into the strange behaviour of the family next door, she uncovers a disturbing web of lies.
The father, Rhys, is hostile. The mother, Wendy, seems to be losing her grip on reality. And their daughter, Mirabelle is an eerie eight-year-old.
When Viola sneaks into Number 33, she discovers a locked room and a secret hidden inside. Soon her curiosity turns into obsession. But as she pushes closer to the truth, the family turns the tables and suddenly, Viola is the one questioning her own sanity.
Will Viola uncover the sinister truth… or is she the next victim in this twisted game of cat and mouse?
The Family Next Door is a chilling psychological thriller that will keep you guessing until the very last page.

" [...] You see, the world is full of bad people, horrible families where the kids get hurt, and nobody looks after them properly. [...] "
Wow! I am impressed. I still can't get over it. I ask myself: what actually happened here?
"The Family next door" by Charlotte Stevenson is an excellent psychological thriller from which you can't tear yourself away. I don't know how the author did it, but I read this novel in one day. The plot drew me in so much, and the ending totally surprised me. The middle of the book is just as good.
The heroine is an elderly lady who is a widow and is very worried about her new neighbours. Is it worth being interested in the neighbours' affairs? Viola will find out. And we with her.
In addition to Viola, I also met a girl named Mirabelle. She and her father totally scared me. Mirabelle behaves like a haunted child. I really wanted to know why. The author portrayed her perfectly.
After this novel, I will happily reach for more stories by Charlotte Stevenson.
Emotions and incredible tension guaranteed. For a better effect, I recommend reading this novel in the evening.
