" [...] She draws me her home
and it looks just like mine,
But there's soldiers and missiles
and tanks in a line. [...]"
Every child should know the book "Colours of Home" by Miriam Latimer. The author shows in a simple way what the children felt that had to flee their country before the war to save their own lives. On the other hand, we see a girl whose family took in a family of refugees.
Here we meet Olive, who tries to bring colour back to Ana's life. Will she succeed?
"Colours of Home" is a very moving story. Together with my son, we observed the changes in the behaviour of both girls.
In addition to the text, we were delighted by the beautiful illustrations created by the author herself.
Let's not be afraid to change the colour of children who had to flee their country before the war. Let's show them that despite everything, it can still be colourful.
