Jack Fogel had always wanted to work in TV, not run the family business. He thought he'd escaped, until his father's heart attack saddled him with Fogel's Kosher Chickens, an operation built by his grandfather and mired in the past. Years later, his wife is long gone, his two teenage daughters perpetually disappointed and his mother insistent that he fund her expensive lifestyle. Even worse, he finds himself at war with business rival Lionel Gutterman, a former employee now prepared to use the most unethical tactics to exact revenge. Lonely and miserable, he meets Sonia Lewis on a blind date. When she reveals she owns a vegan cafe, Jack panics and doesn't quite tell the truth about what he does. As their relationship blossoms, the lie becomes more difficult to sustain. With increasingly unpredictable attacks from Lionel, he faces personal and professional destruction unless he works out how the truth can save him. Chicken Wars is a romantic comedy about the conflicts we must overcome to accept who we are. For Jack, the prize is love or poultry. Can it be both?

" [...] God intended us to eat everything in the Garden of Eden, not just the fruit and vegetables. [...]"
The beginning of the book "Chicken Wars" sounds very interesting. The main character, the Jew Jack Fogel, sees his own funeral in the form of a bird. You will find out who came and how it happened in this book. I forgot to add that it was just a terrible dream. But something must have been up, because Jack is set to inherit his grandfather's Fogel's Chicken business, including two stores and a huge slaughterhouse. He is currently 46 years old, divorced and single. He has two almost adult daughters. He expanded his grandfather's company. His oldest sister, Tracy, is a child and adolescent psychiatrist. His younger sister Karen is an aspiring politician. And he was stuck in his grandfather's company. " [...] Kill chickens, work hard, and you'll get paid [...]". This story really captivated me. I couldn't stop reading. The main character often irritated me, but on the other hand I felt very sorry for him. He went through a lot of bad things in his life. Grandpa Solly adored his grandson Jack. He saw him as his successor. But did the young boy want to become a kosher chicken butcher? Did he want to continue the family business? I didn't like the fact that no one cared about his opinion. His sisters went their separate ways, and unfortunately he had to stay in his father's homeland. Will he fulfil his dreams despite everything? In addition to career problems, he also has problems with his ex-wife and daughters. Moreover, as it happens in books, there was also a villain. You will meet an old man named Lionel. He's going to make a big mess here, he's literally going to cause a media storm. Why? Will our main character find the love of his life in his problems? Is it too late for that? I didn't like Lionel. He really got on my nerves. He is a guy who, despite his advanced age, wants to be on top at all costs. It's worth taking a closer look at it. I had a lot of fun reading Adam Leigh's book "Chicken Wars". I found moments here when I couldn't stop smiling, and moments when I felt very sad. The author surprised me with the resolution of a certain conflict. I didn't expect this turn of events. Bravo to the author. If you like romantic comedies, you've come to the right place. I encourage you to get to know Jack Fogel's family. Be sure to pay attention to his mommy. Despite her old age, the woman is a good planner. But does it always work out for her? Will the family join forces in a difficult situation? Author Adam Leigh presented family problems in an ideal way. Jack Fogel has only strong women around him. Will he be able to stand out from the crowd? Will he take up the gauntlet and fight for his family's good name? Or is it more like a child who can be taken advantage of? I've never read a romantic comedy about a Jewish family before. I was very interested in the topic of vegans and carnivores. Does such a connection have any real chance? Read what the author has prepared for his characters. I'm happy that I could get to know this story. Like Adam Leigh and the Fogel family, I love eating chicken, especially roasted chicken. Finger lickin' good. I wonder if being a carnivore is something to be ashamed of? I encourage you to read this book. It is perfect for autumn evenings. I am delighted with the cover.
