Late on Hallowe’en night, Frank is delivered to the Jailer, standing accused of a crime for which he will hang. He has a tale to tell, and begs the Jailer to speak to his daughter.
His daughter, Laura, has her own tale to tell. Through their words, the Jailer hears of the events that will lead him to his last execution.
All the while, the Jack O’Lantern Men wait in the wings for the last act to play out and the curtain to fall.

"The Jack O'Lantern Men" by Lee Allen is a horror that will move many readers. You can be scared. Perfect reading for Halloween.
It is dark, atmospheric and sinister. The characters struggle with powerful demons that make their lives completely difficult. Do demons pass from generation to generation? Can a curse be inherited? You will find out by reading this very short horror.
There is good plot and action. There is adrenaline and fear. The slow reveal of cards builds tension very well and gives additional emotions.
We get to know the story from two perspectives: the father and the daughter. I think this is a good move.
Who are Jack O'Lantern's people? I guarantee you that you would not want to meet them on your path. They are very dangerous and can lead to death.
The father in this story is Frank Collings. He is currently waiting in prison to be executed by hanging. We learn the end of his life very quickly. I recommend you learn about his earlier life. The behaviour of this character was shocking to me. I honestly did not like him.
Laura Collings is Frank's daughter. The story she told totally shook me. The end of her story terrified me. I liked this heroine and felt very sorry for her.
I wanted to tell you that I really liked the ending. For a horror movie, it is very surprising. It is worth waiting until the end.
The cover is very scary. You can be afraid of it, especially at night.
