According to one of the more balanced columns regularly posted on www.idioma-de-idiotas.com, titled "Podrido de Anglicismos," Spanglish resulta from "carencia de vocabulario" and "pereza mental." In other words, supuestamente usamos Spanglish as a crutch to save our ass when we don't know a word, because we're too perezosos to actually learn how to say something correctly.
