After the interesting first volume of the "The Highlanderess" series entitled "The Highlanderess. Enja's Voyage", I wanted to read the second part entitled "The Highlanderess. Enja's Quest". I am glad that the author Eva Fellner smoothly moved from one part to the other. Here is my golden advice: Before reaching for the second volume, read the first volume first.
Nothing has changed in Enja's case. She is still like Xena to me - a warrior princess. She is worth emulating.
Thanks to the great descriptions, I felt as if I was actively participating in the described story. It was an extraordinary feeling. I hope that one day someone will come up with the idea of adapting the entire series of "The Highlanderess" into a film. It would be a masterful feast for the eyes.
In my humble opinion, the second part is a tad better than the first. The cover is beautiful. One of the best I've seen.
I liked the war scenes the most. I don't know how Eva Fellner did it, but they were very realistic. Are you ready to take part in the Scottish battles for independence?
Despite its large size (540 pages), it is a quick read. The captivating plot draws the reader into its extraordinary vortex.
I secretly hope that soon I will be able to learn the further fate of Enja, my warrior princess.
