This work is written as a guide to mid-to-late-1990s practice and developments in lymphoproliferative disorders. The first section begins with a short overview of the normal lymphoid system and is followed by chapters on the principles and basic techniques of laboratory diagnosis, imaging and therapy. The second section is a systematic account of the lymphoproliferative disorders. The terminology used is based on the Revised European-American Lymphoma (REAL) classification with its emphasis on disease entities, which are defined in terms of both their cellular and clinical features. The further reading listed in each chapter is not intended to be comprehensive, but a range of recent review articles and papers in relevant areas. The book should be of interest to those undertaking higher specialist training in haematology, pathology or oncology or those in established posts who require a concise review of the subject. Research workers, specialist nurses and laboratory staff may also find the book useful in providing a broader perspective for their professional work.
