"Imagi-Nations and Borderless Media" analyzes the impact of transnational television on the television and advertising industries in three regions - South Asia, Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia. Amos Owen begins by surveying the developments in the field between 1992 and 2001, with a view to identifying and classifying the major players, both channel providers and satellite platforms, and the corporate ownership links. Owen then places this in the context of globalization. He also introduces an innovative six-fold typology by which he analyzes government policies towards transnational television and the shifts that have taken place over the past decade in the three regions studied.
